Current Characters: None

IC INFORMATION
Character Name: Aurora
Species: Fairy
Canon: Beautiful Darkness
Canon Point: Post-Canon, the night right after she, uh, murdered the rest of her clan as revenge.
Character Age: Ages of any or all fairies in this story aren't ever confirmed by the author, though judging that there are those that look like adults and MOST are children, Aurora appears to be in her earlier teens, so 14 is a good enough guess. This is a horror fantasy graphic novel, really rough things happen.
CRAU: No
Character Appearance: Aurora is a cute and adorable young lady appearing fairy who is known for her blue polka dot dress and her ever adoring eyes. She's the picture perfect idea of a young Disney-style princess, born from the mind of a young girl's idealized image of one.
Powers and Abilities: No particular skills, but it might be worth noting that Aurora can somewhat communicate with animals.
What Did Your Character Wish For? To live happily ever after with her Prince. A vague wish from someone who had lived through hell and is probably the last of her kind.
What Potion Did They Receive? Yellow
Did They Drink It? No
If Yes, What Element/Animal? Mouse

Character Questions:
1. Who is the person your character is most bonded with from their canon, or who is someone they miss the most and why?
Aurora was close with many of the fairies as she used to be their princess leader and was trying to help them survive in a happy and healthy community. But they all either betrayed her or died. Hector was her prince she wanted to wed, but he broke her heart when another girl was gaining influence and married her instead (Zellie). He soon died by being eaten by a frog, while Zellie barked at him for getting her ribbon that fell in the pond. This same girl murdered her outsider friend, Timothy, by burying her alive in a fake funeral for "being ugly" (she does not know this happened). Her closest ex-friend, Plim, betrayed her into being Zellie's lackey and was possibly one of the ones who helped murder her final straw friend, Jane, offscreen and stealing her bird steed for Zellie. Yeah, she's been through a lot and Zellie was awful.

2. What are they most afraid of and why?
Death and being alone. Aurora doesn't know where these feelings came from at first but upon seeing some of the flies that were devouring the young girl's corpse...she felt a heaviness in her chest and starting to sob. Details are purposefully left vague for the reader to interpret, but a popular theory is that Aurora is the idealized version of the dead girl and showcases the pinnacle image in her psyche (with the others being other representatives of her imagination and psyche) so she probably felt the intense sorrow of the death and being dead and alone.

3. What are their emotional, mental, and physical weaknesses and why?
Answer for all three.
Aurora physically isn't overly impressive. She is dainty and thin. But she makes up for being limber and quick, able to scurry and climb trees. But she wouldn't be able to take any damage. Mentally, Aurora used to be compassionate beyond all bounds, to the point she could be taken advantage of. Now, she has grown more cynical. Emotionally, she is more likely to react emotionally when crossed and cornered. She despises cruelty above all else, and has a severe decrease in patience for it. Though Aurora's kindness is there, just under so much cold trauma that she doesn't know whether isolation suits her best or not. Being around empathetic people who hear her out may help with this, but full trust will take a while. Happens when literally everyone betrays you or dies.

4. What discrepancies are there between their inner self (who they feel they are) and their outer self (how they present themselves to others)?
Aurora looks like a sweet and gentle young woman, and...she still is. But there is a darkness inside of her now that many people might not catch up on. She's survived, through resourcefulness and otherwise. She's the last of her kind, and fights the fear of being alone or being hurt. Kill or be killed. Aurora may seem like she's charming and maybe hasn't seen too much in her life, but she had. She had seen awful things and she has killed people, premeditatedly. She doesn't really have a problem now to fight for survival, even if it's just her own.

5. What would make them happiest and why?
Aurora at first wanted to have peace and happiness for her and her people. But after being hurt and abused, Aurora just wants to be safe and secure within herself. Just a quiet and happy life with plenty of food and resources. Maybe she longs to still be loved, but she doesn't how how to trust people like that right now. Love and happiness should come hand in hand, but knowing she could be in a place where people can experience joy and togetherness might change her new outlooks just enough to make her her old self again. But it will take time.

6. What characteristics does someone need to have to be your character's ideal significant other?
Kindness above all else, and truthful. Things that she thought Prince Hector was like, who was charming and good with words. But he was a phony who wanted influence. When he married Zellie behind her back, it was the straw for her and she left her people to live with Jane (a competent outsider). Watching people have jubilations purposefully without inviting her was one of many betrayals of her own love and care. The person she loves has to really consider her feelings and pay attention to her. Aurora didn't know just how much she needed to be seen to feel safe. She needs someone who can give as much as she does.

7. Would your character make a sacrifice to save someone else and why or why not?
Complicated. Before the end events of the story, the answer would be undoubtedly yes. Aurora's selfless and compassionate nature was strong, almost too strong. But that nearly killed her. The old Aurora is trapped in there and would do so for dear friends no question. But she's had to choose her own survival over the survival of her tormentors. When the situation is dire, good people deserve to be saved, right? Aurora's selflessness needs to be poked at a bit to truly shine. But once it's out and you're considered an ally, it's do or die mode. She'd do anything for her true friends.

8. What is one thing they would tell their younger self if they had the chance, or if your character is young, what is one thing they would want their older self to remember?

It's okay to not trust someone. Don't sacrifice yourself to the point of being used by others. Some people are just cruel. Cruelty needs to sometimes be responded to in kind to survive. Maybe you'll find someone true someday, but please see people who they truly are first. It's okay to ask questions and have doubts.

Aurora's old self literally was taken advantage of by everyone because she cared so much. People like Zellie, Plim, and Hector soon all found better things for themselves and used her to get ahead. It's okay, all of them are dead now.

9. When in dire circumstances does your character fight, flee, freeze or fawn and how does that look?
Fawn. Aurora, despite everything, is still more like a diplomat than anything. She is a lot more tense and defensive now, but she isn't a fighter (yet). She is a planner, and prefers peace over outright cruel war. Aurora always believed kindness and care paved the way for her people to live how they used to (in the girl's body???). Even though she's far more cynical now, there had to be a way to avoid fighting needlessly in her mind. Finding alternatives before fighting to survive just seems to fit her best, even though she DOES have a shorter fuse and might start to have an outburst if people were truly unagreeable.

10. Why did your character make the wish they did?
Aurora wants a quiet life, without the pain and suffering of trying to survive in a harsh world. After the demise of the remainder of her people (by her hand this time), she just wants to escape from it all in a way she could be happy with her sweet prince (the cabin man, but maybe...). If Aurora could find someone or some people who understood her, maybe the world wouldn't feel so bad and dangerous. The land here granted at least one of those wishes in a way she didn't know was possible to verbalize. She is now the same size as everyone else, for now!
